Programme Description
Orthopodology is a fundamental area within podiatric practice and has undergone significant evolution in recent years, both in terms of materials and technologies applied to the design and manufacturing of devices. This reality demands professionals with updated training and a precise understanding of each patient’s needs.
The Master’s Degree in Applied Orthopodology at UManresa provides specialised training in the design and application of custom foot orthoses and other orthopaedic devices, following a comprehensive clinical approach.
The programme combines theoretical content, audiovisual resources, and extensive hands‑on workshop training focused on developing the necessary technical skills—manual dexterity, speed, and aesthetic quality—to create customised orthotic devices. It also includes general orthopaedics sessions delivered by sector professionals, broadening the understanding of treatment within the locomotor system.
Orthotic devices are the core of the programme, presented through high‑quality audiovisual material. What makes this programme unique is the extensive number of practical workshop hours where students develop their manual dexterity, speed, and aesthetic quality in the creation of orthopodological devices tailored to each patient.
