This training may be funded by the company through the Spanish State Foundation for Employment Training, depending on the available credit. Module 1: Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) and Orofacial Pain (OP)

• Epidemiology and risk factors associated with TMD and OP.
• Classification systems for TMD and OP.
• Anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of the cranio-mandibular-cervical region.
• Neurophysiology, phenotypes and comorbidities associated with chronic OP.
• Physiotherapy modalities in the treatment of TMD and OP.
• Medical and surgical treatments for TMD and OP.
• Definition, diagnosis and understanding of bruxism in TMD and OP.
• Definition, diagnosis and treatment of somatic tinnitus.

Module 2: Headaches

• Epidemiology and risk factors associated with headaches and migraine.
• Pathophysiology and neurophysiology of primary headaches (tension-type headache, migraine and CTA), as well as neuropathic orofacial pain.
• Manual therapy and therapeutic education in the treatment of tension-type headache, migraine and headache secondary to temporomandibular disorders.
• Exercise modalities according to headache type.
• Implementation of physiotherapy programmes based on therapeutic exercise.
• Management of patients with chronic headache and migraine.
• Medical and pharmacological treatment of headaches and neuropathic orofacial pain.

Module 3: Upper Cervical Spine Disorders (UCS)

• Anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of the upper, lower and thoracic cervical spine.
• Common clinical patterns of upper, lower and thoracic cervical spine disorders in relation to OP, TMD, headaches, dizziness and instability.
• Diagnosis, treatment and relationship of whiplash-associated disorders with TMD, headaches, dizziness and instability.
• Diagnostic criteria and differential diagnosis of upper cervical spine disorders in headaches and dizziness.
• Assessment and management of cervicogenic headache and cervicogenic dizziness through physiotherapy-specific procedures.

Module 4: Sleep Disorders

• Sleep architecture, physiology and stages.
• Anatomy and physiology of the upper airway.
• Pathophysiology of sleep disorders.
• Clinical and instrumental diagnosis of sleep disorders.
• Physiotherapy treatment for sleep disorders.
• Sleep hygiene and a 360° approach.

Module 5: Vestibular Syndromes

• Anatomy and physiology of the oculomotor system.
• Anatomy and physiology of the vestibular system.
• Physiological basis of videonystagmography.
• Neurophysiology of posture, balance and gait.
• Pathophysiology and management of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV).
• Pathophysiology of acute vestibular syndromes (AVS): peripheral and central.
• Clinical presentation and epidemiology of AVS.
• Physical examination and treatment of AVS.
• Pathophysiology of episodic vestibular syndromes (EVS): peripheral and central.
• Clinical presentation and epidemiology of EVS.
• Physical examination and treatment of EVS.
• Interpretation of VNG results.

Module 7: Final Postgraduate Project

• Integration of the physiotherapist in headache units.
