Mental health care has undergone significant transformation in recent decades, with a wide range of approaches now emerging, most of them based on the development of community interventions. This has led to changes both in care models and in service delivery systems, spanning from promotion and prevention to treatment.

This approach to mental health care entails a substantial shift in the competencies—knowledge, skills, and attitudes—required of professionals working in the field, as it involves transdisciplinary networking with shared goals within a given territory. For this reason, it is especially important to offer training that enables the acquisition of these competencies and the development of the skills needed to participate in building community-based mental health interventions in the context of Public Health.

The Postgraduate Program in New Models of Community Mental Health Care provides training on these new approaches to mental health, grounded in scientific evidence regarding concepts, models, service planning, and evaluation and intervention techniques. It also equips participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to understand the global and community aspects of mental health, thus enabling them to develop new strategies for design, research, and intervention in this field.

Adquirir les habilitats necessàries per al disseny i l'aplicació d'un model comunitari d'atenció a la salut mental.
Obtenir les eines necessàries per a dissenyar i implementar un sistema integrat i integral d'atenció a la salut mental.
Aconseguir els coneixements necessaris per al disseny i aplicació d'un sistema d'avaluació tant dels models com dels sistemes comunitaris d'atenció a la salut mental.
Desenvolupar les capacitats necessàries per al treball en equips comunitaris d'atenció a la salut mental, transdisciplinars, col·laboratius i d'apoderament.
Comprendre i poder abordar els determinants socials de la salut mental des de praxis comunitàries.
Conèixer i poder desenvolupar enfocaments mixtos de recerca per a generar una praxi basada en l'evidència científica.

Prevention and promotion of community mental health, factors and approaches (I): Training and awareness-raising of mental health professionals within the recovery model. Citizenship as mental health.

El postgrau pretén aportar un bagatge que habiliti per a un desenvolupament òptim i actualitzat de diversos rols professionals dins del camps sanitari i social de la salut mental. Des de l’estrictament assistencial (incorporant elements de multidiscipliarietat, perspectiva comunitària, atenció centrada en la persona, en el seu projecte vital i el procés de recuperació des del respecte als drets) fins als àmbits de gestió i planificació (amb sortides professionals que poden incorporar direcció d’equips, col·laboració amb l’Administració, consultoria de programes de qualitat...) i el camp de la recerca (aportant eines per a implementar i avaluar iniciatives i programes que incloguin els aspectes quantitatius i qualitatius).

Cal destacar la transversalitat de l’enfocament que es donarà al postgrau, en el sentit que es pretén dotar d’eines conceptuals i operatives que aportin una visió transformadora i innovadora de la salut mental i que han de ser aplicables tant a les Unitats i Serveis ja en funcionament com especialment als nous Programes que posin accent en la proximitat, la comunitat, la co-participació i els drets de les persones. I els perfils que poden enriquir-se d’aquesta visió i aportar valor competencial inclouen professionals del camp de la inserció laboral, gestió de recursos, treball i educació social, psicologia, infermeria, psiquiatria, teràpia ocupacional, auxiliars sanitaris i socials.
