Qualification

Depending on the chosen pathway:

• Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Relations and People Management awarded by UVic-UCC.

If the participant does not hold a university degree, a Specialisation Certificate issued by the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia will be awarded.

This training may be subsidised for companies through the Fundación Estatal para la Formación en el Empleo, depending on the available credit. Course 1. Strategic Management of the People Department (4 ECTS)

• Analysis and interpretation of the macroeconomic environment of companies:
• The company: operating system, departments and production areas. The role of the human resources (HR) area and personnel management.
• Strategic management and the integration of HR management. New roles in human resources management. Corporate values and culture.
• Innovation and the implementation of change processes as key elements for company adaptation and improvement.
• Finance, financial statements and budgeting. Implications for the HR area.
• Management control systems: usefulness in activity monitoring and decision-making.
• Interaction with the legal representation of employees. Unitary and trade union representation.

Course 2. Labour Relations and Administration (5 ECTS)

The existence of the employment relationship: characteristics of employment and types of ordinary or special employment relationships.

• The direct employment relationship: the employment contract and its different modalities (full-time or part-time; permanent or temporary; special, incentivised and employment-promotion contracts), as well as training contracts.
• Contracting and subcontracting of works and services. Hiring through temporary employment agencies (ETT).
• The existence of concealed employment relationships: cases of false self-employed workers and false interns.

Sources of the employment relationship: hierarchy and complementarity

• International standards, with particular emphasis on European legislation and case law.
• Workers’ Statute.
• Collective agreements: statutory and extra-statutory.
• Company agreements.
• Employment contracts: special, typical and atypical clauses.

Content of the employment relationship

• Managerial and organisational powers of the company. Agreed functions: professional classification and functional mobility.
• Working time: schedules and working hours. Working time recording. Distribution possibilities – regular and irregular working hours. Location and availability. Working time and on-call time. Leave, rest periods and holidays.
• Workplace: travel and geographical mobility.
• Teleworking.

Social Security

• Contribution process. Contribution base and application of rates, employer and employee contributions.
• Suspension of the employment relationship: temporary incapacity – accident and common illness. Benefits for birth, adoption and childcare. Leaves of absence.
• Introduction to unemployment and retirement benefits.

Control, suspension and termination of the employment relationship

• Employer monitoring and control powers and disciplinary authority.
• Substantial modifications of working conditions: causes and procedure.
• Temporary layoff procedures (ERTO) and reduction of working hours.
• Disciplinary dismissals: causes and execution.
• Objective dismissals: types.

Collective dismissals: types (ERO)

• Legal representation of employees. Unitary and trade union representation.

Course 3. Remuneration Policy (2 ECTS)

• Remuneration and its application to attraction policies.
• Internal equity: job evaluation and remuneration practice diagnosis. External competitiveness: salary surveys and labour market.
• Salary bands: setting and evolution.
• Salary increases.
• Variable remuneration and performance.

Course 4. Management and Implementation of the Occupational Risk Prevention Plan (2 ECTS)

• Rights and duties of the parties involved in occupational risk prevention.
• Organisation of occupational risk prevention within the company. Prevention services.
• Responsibilities in occupational risk prevention.

Course 5. Employer Branding: Communication, Culture and Purpose in Organisations (3 ECTS)

• Communication between individuals and teams: analysis of communication, its impact on work, and the application of communication systems in people and team management.
• Communication and conflict management.
• Communication within the company.
• Communication plan. Organisational purpose and culture.

Course 6. Talent Management: Selection, Evaluation and Promotion of Talent (5 ECTS)

Course 8. Final Postgraduate Project (5 ECTS)

As a result of the technical knowledge acquired and the managerial skills developed, upon completion of the postgraduate programme, participants should be able to successfully manage work teams and human resources, and maintain optimal interaction with the legal representation of employees. This training also enables access to different professional sectors:

Carlos Bella

He holds a degree in History and is a PhD candidate in Educational Innovation. He has a Master’s degree in Clinical and Social Simulation Methodology from UManresa, as well as a Master’s in Employer Branding and Inbound Recruiting. Master’s in Emotional Intelligence. Certified in DISC and Motivators and in Management 3.0. He has more than 18 years of experience in training, career guidance, competency development, and educational innovation. He is currently a consultant in talent management and PDI at UManresa. He is the creator of the serious games Talento y Punto® and Planeta Talento®, the latter recognized with the Educaweb Award 2025 for the best career guidance game. He collaborates with companies, public administrations, and educational institutions on projects related to talent development, soft skills, employability, and leadership.

Sonia Duque Fontalba

Bachelor of Information Sciences (Journalism) from the UAB. A communications professional with over 25 years of experience, she has developed her career mainly in the field of strategic consulting, leading projects for over 100 national and international companies and brands. She has held positions of responsibility at Inforpress, where she directed the Consumer Area in Barcelona and managed teams, budgets and top-level clients. She is currently a senior consultant at ATREVIA, where she advises on communication strategy, crisis management and account management for prominent companies. She combines her professional activity with teaching as a professor and tutor for the Master in Comprehensive Corporate Communication at Blanquerna (URLL). She began her career as a journalist in various media.

Ester Garcia Quilón

Bachelor's degree in Labor Sciences from the UAB and a diploma in Labor Relations from the UAB, master's degree in Occupational Risk Prevention (ICT), expert postgraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from the UPF, postgraduate degree in Digital Transformation for managers at EADA and Chief Future Officer program at UManresa. Experience as an HRBP in the financial sector and currently Human Resources Director at the Sumcab industrial group.

Eugeni Lorenzana Mendoza

Graduated in Clinical Psychology from Blanquerna - Universitat Ramon Llull, Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (BSM), PDD from IE Business School, and University Expert in Values-Based Leadership from Fundació Universitària del Bages (FUB). He developed his professional career for nearly fifteen years at Banco Santander, performing the role of Human Resources Business Partner. He is currently Human Resources Director at Avinent Group, a family-owned business group operating in the industrial, medical-dental, and retail sectors. He is also Second Vice President of the Metallurgical Employers’ Association of Central Catalonia.

Vanessa Lozano

Degree in Psychology from the UAB. Certified Professional Co-Active Coach and CTI (The Coaches Training Institute). Faculty Insights Discovery® and Insights Navigator® accreditation.
She has 20 years of experience in the field of HR and People Development.
She has been Executive Director at Trivière Partners, Regional Training Director at Adecco Training, Head of People Management at Grandvalira, and General Director in Spain for International Projects at YellowKorne.

Oriol Montanyà

PhD in Economics and Business from UVic-UCC.
Degree in Sociology (UAB) and Journalism (UPF), with executive training in Operations Management and Project Management.
Currently Senior Lecturer at UPF-BSM and founder of the Sustainability Observatory at the same institution.
He has held opinion roles on business management in La Vanguardia and collaborates as a logistics expert for the Government of Catalonia.

Betlem Muñoz Gómez-Quintero

Degree in Psychology from the UAB, with a postgraduate qualification in Psychological Expertise from CEP, a postgraduate qualification in Training Management in Organizations from IL3, and a PDD from ESADE. Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from the UOC.
She is an accredited consultant in Insights Discovery and Management Colors. Experience as an HRBP in the financial sector and currently Head of the People Management Area at UManresa.

Marc Soler Palacios

A graduate in Labor Relations from the UAB and the UB, with a master's degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology, and Occupational Risk Prevention, and specializations in Synergology, Negotiation, and Communication from IESE. He has over fifteen years of experience in labor relations and people management in multinational environments, as well as in strategic HR consulting for SMEs. He is currently the Senior Manager of People & Culture at Coca-Cola Europacific Partners.

Albert Toledo Oms

PhD in Law. Degree in Law from the UB and diploma in Labour Relations. Labour lawyer with extensive experience advising companies on restructuring, collective bargaining and workplace accidents.
Expert in contractual advisory, compensation and benefits, social security, and legal defence before courts and the Labour Inspectorate.
Currently Head of the Labour Area at CECA MAGÁN Abogados.

Xavier Trias Macià

Graduate in Labour Relations from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Master’s Degree in Occupational Risk Prevention (UPC) and Postgraduate Diploma in People Management in Organizations (UManresa), with more than 20 years of experience in multinational environments in Occupational Risk Prevention Management and People Management. Currently, he is HR Manager at DENSO Barcelona SAU
