Support Service for Students with Functional Diversity (SSSFD)
What is the SAEDF?
This support service is part of the Student Support Programme and is aimed at students who, throughout their educational process at UVic-UCC, require specific support arising from their functional diversity conditions and/or learning disorders. An individualised validation process is carried out to identify the main needs and support requirements of each student. Once validated, a document is issued certifying the student’s situation, enabling the appropriate adaptations described in the relevant protocol or recommendation document to be applied in each case.
Who is it aimed at?
- Prospective students who wish to know how they will be able to carry out their studies at UVic-UCC.
- Students who are already enrolled and require some type of support or guidance in order to fully participate in university life.
- Members of the university community (teaching staff and administrative and service staff), especially those directly involved in the application of the appropriate adaptations described in the relevant protocol or recommendation document in each case.
What are its functions?
- Providing guidance on access to and support at the university for prospective students and their families, in order to facilitate the transition to university studies.
- Advising students on university resources in order to reduce barriers to study and ensure equal opportunities.
- Informing and advising teaching staff and administrative and service staff on actions to ensure equal opportunities for students with specific educational needs.
- Connecting the different services involved in order to implement, coordinate, and manage the necessary actions and support.
- Participating in the development and implementation of regulations.
- Representing UVic-UCC on technical committees and networks of similar services at regional and national level.
- Promoting awareness-raising actions regarding equal opportunities for all people, in collaboration with other services and institutions.
- Providing information on internal or external university services that may be necessary in a given situation.
